MossiTull

Most family businesses don’t sell satellites to NASA — but it’s not hard to understand why Mossi Tull would choose to enter the trade. Tull has been around the engineering and contracting worlds forever, and he’s helped grow his parents’ firm while expanding his civic footprint across the Washington, D.C. area. Jackson and Tull’s work can be seen in everything from the Hubble telescope to high altitude balloon technology.

 

Mossi’s Bio:

Mossi K. Tull is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Jackson and Tull (J&T) (www.jnt.com), an engineering and technology company founded in 1974 and based in the Washington, DC region. Mr. Tull was born and raised in Washington, DC. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance with a minor in history from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Tull has completed the Strategic Finance for Small Business (SFSB) program at the Harvard Business School in Boston, MA and the NMSDC Advanced Management Program at the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, IL.

After graduating from college in 1995, he joined J&T as a Financial Analyst. In this capacity, he provided support to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Tull’s duties later expanded to include the overall management of a variety of engineering and technology projects. In his current role as COO, he reports to the President and has overall responsibility for the company’s operations. Mr. Tull also maintains strategic involvement in the areas of business development and government relations. He is a member of several professional and civic organizations. He is a board member of the Maryland Space Business Roundtable and of the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum in Washington, D.C. Mr. Tull has received several awards including the Leadership Circle Award from Morehouse College.

Mr. Tull resides in Washington, DC with his wife, Carmen Coles Tull. They are the parents of a son, Mossi K. Tull, Jr. and a daughter Malaika K. Tull.
